It's passion that belies all natural understanding!
Music is a most precious medium which enthuses the minds, hearts and souls of people everywhere; in every nation, culture, country, continent, and universe. From Pittsburgh, PA, Deborah began singing at the young age of five, along with her six siblings whose mother was responsible for forming their family Gospel music group Heavenly Sounds of Pittsburgh (a.k.a. The Hollis Singers), with the power of God's Holy Spirit in the love of Jesus Christ. As her mother, Evangelist and Prophetess Mattie V. Hollis traveled preaching and teaching the Gospel with miraculous healing and saving power, Deborah and her siblings would minister the true Gospel of Jesus Christ in song. Deborah is the ninth child of ten, and from a young age, she was especially endowed with boldness in the Holy Spirit of God and became one of the lead singers in her family group. Her lead singing talent quickly popularized with many church choirs, WAMO radio choir, and praise teams around Western Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, Detroit, and other tri-state areas. Deborah and her family group continue to be one of the premier solo artists and family Gospel singing groups, today. With their special anointing and unique Universal Gospel musical sounds, Deborah and her family have been featured with many Gospel greats as Andrae Crouch, Bobby Jones, Richard Smallwood, Jesse Dixon, James Moore, Douglas Miller, Edwin Hawkins Music & Arts Seminar, Dorothy Norwood, to name a few. Deborah and her family group also performed for numerous local and national television programs, Pittsburgh Steeler special events, political campaigns, and the list goes on and on.
Deborah began her solo career as the Lord inspired and endowed the gift of songwriting in 2015. Following achieving her EdD in School Leadership in 2019, Deborah completed and released her first solo project as Deborahlynnsings, a special name her beautiful mother bestowed upon her and by the grace and mercy of God, she is working to live up to the higher call of God in her music ministry. Deborah recalls another prophetic experience, "Sandra Crouch, who I met several years ago, when my family group opened for Andrae Crouch, walked up to me while backstage and asked me, "Do you write music/songs?" Astoundingly, I replied, "Oh no! My brother writes all our songs." Ms. Crouch prophetically spoke into my life saying, "You will when you are still enough." I didn't understand at that time, what she meant by "when you are still enough", yet the words remained with me. Many years later, Deborah began hearing music and writing original songs as given by the Holy Spirit of God in Jesus name. Glory to God the prophecy has come to pass as Deborahlynnsings...PEACE MUSIC presented in her first solo CD project titled, "Where Would I Be" including all original music which she wrote, arranged and produced along with her sister Lori (beloved 1961-2022) and her brother Nate Hollis, "The Gospel Music Man."
